I had the honor of having an in-depth conversation with Joseph Arthur about addiction, recovery, the fentanyl crisis, mental health (youth and adult), my personal story and experience, unhealthy tech use, faith, purpose, and more. He invited me to be a guest on his podcast.
For those not familiar with him, Joseph Arthur is a gifted and prolific singer-songwriter and brilliant lyricist who has released 16 albums and 11 EPs. He’s also a very talented studio artist and graphic designer. He was the first North American musician signed by Peter Gabriel to Gabriel’s Real World record label. He’s toured around the world, appeared on Letterman three times, had his music covered by Peter Gabriel, Michael Stipe (of R.E.M.) and Chris Martin (of Coldplay), among others. He’s released albums with Jeff Ament (of Pearl Jam), Peter Buck (of R.E.M.), Ben Harper, and Dhani Harrison (son of George Harrison of The Beatles).
He’s hosted multiple podcasts, with guests that have included Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan’s son), Mark Lanegan and Barrett Martin (of Screaming Trees), William Duvall (Alice in Chains), Keith Morris (Black Flag), Corey Glover (of Living Colour) and the surviving members of Blind Melon.
